Pyhän Asteli Aurora Igloo Huts are located in 4 km from the center of Pyhä resort, next to Pyha-Luosto National Park in Finnish Lapland. Igloo huts are for 2-3 persons with a bed under the warmed glass ceiling vith a veiw to the arctic sky. 1,5 hours drive from Rovaniemi airport.
Pyhän Asteli Aurora Igloo Huts are separate hotel quality rooms with 1 double bed, own toilet and shower. Hut size 20 m².
Some of Aurora Igloo Huts can accommodate 3 persons (double bed + extra sofa bed). Hut size 26 m².

Pyhän Asteli Aurora Igloo Huts are located 1 hour 30 min drive from Rovaniemi airport. The Kemijärvi city is 50km away (train station). Pyhä-Luosto National Park - the oldest National park in Finland, and its hiking, biking and skiing routes - 5 km from Pyhän Asteli resort.
Rovaniemi Airport is the closest airport to Pyhän Asteli. Seasonal direct flights are available from Europe.
Stopover flight in Helsinki is the most common way to get to Pyhän Asteli. Finnair and Norwegian airlines both offer Helsinki - Rovaniemi flights.
By plane:
Helsinki - Rovaniemi daily flights. Flight time - 1h20m. Price from 35€.
SKIBUS from Rovaniemi airport to Pyhätunturi. You can ask the driver to stop at Pyhän Asteli directly. Remember to ask the driver. The normal stop is at Pyhätunturi Ski-Inn, 5 km from Pyhän Asteli.
By train:
Helsinki - Kemijärvi daily night trains by VR. Duration - 13h. Price from 68€ (Finnish railways VR).
Pyhän Asteli are located 50 km from Kemijärvi train station. There is a bus line to Pyhätunturi from train station.

There are few high-quality restaurants nearby within 5 km from Pyhän Asteli, as well as a supermarket in the center of Pyhä Resort.
Northern Lights in Lapland can be seen from mid-August to the end of April in a dark time.
The Northern Lights are not guaranteed as it is a natural phenomena and it always depends on the current weather.
Nearby lies the lake Pyhäjärvi with its amazing view to the fells and sky. In case if promising Aurora forecast it is possible also to walk there and take great pichtures.
Location of the Pyhän Asteli is good for Lapland gateway and activities like snowmobile safaris, husky rides, guided Aurora tours, reindeer farm visits.

Recommended warm winter clothing: thermal under-layer, warm mid-layer, winter jacket, trousers and winter boots. Hat, gloves and scarf are essential.
Pyhä Igloos are located few steps away from the center of Pyhä resort, services and Lapland activities, and next to Pyhä-Luosto National Park.
Pyhä is suitable for both Lapland weekend getaway and long winter holidays. Snow and adventure activities like snowmobile safaris, husky rides, guided Aurora tours, reindeer farm visits can be easily arranged in one place.

Ranua Wildlife Park offer an unique experience to see polar bears and 50 other different Arctic animal species. The animals live in spacious fencings in the midst of northern wide forests, in their as authentic natural environment as possible. For the wellbeing of the animals there are no lighting inside the Wildlife Park. If you visit the Wildlife Park after 2 pm in the wintertime you should bring your own torch with you. You can also buy a torch from the ticket sales office.
Entrance ticket is 15-19€/person depending the season (valid in 2019).
Santa office open every day, both winter and summer. Entrance and meeting with Santa - free of charge. No advance reservation needed.
Using of own cameras while meeting Santa is prohibited; professional photos and videos available for a fee. Price in 2019 is from 30€ up to 40-45€ for 6 high resolution photos and a video clip you meeting Santa. No obligation to purchase anything however.
A huge Snow castle right in Santa Claus Village with residents of the Moominvalley. There are Moomin ice sculptures gallery - Moominmamma, Moominpappa and their friends - as five-meter snow and ice sculptures. 50-meter long slide, snow labyrinth, Moominvalley magic forest, fun zone with interactive wall, ice bar and souvenir shop.
Open every day from 9 to 19 throughout the winter season.

Visiting SantaPark is a must-do activity for families with kids! This is an indoor Christmas theme park voted the top Christmas destination in the world. Plan a visit for at least 2-3 hours (usually kids want to stay there for a longer time).
There are Arctic Circle, Ice gallery and Ice bar, Angry birds activity park, gingerbread bakery, Elf workshop, Santa Claus office with real Santa, Magic train, Post office and Elf Show performances.

Isokuru canyon hiking route for those visiting Lapland during summer and autunm time.
The Lapland Military Band’s warm-hearted Christmas concert, beloved and popular indeed, will bring us the Christmas spirit this year, too. Soprano Anna-Maria Jurvelin will perform as a visiting soloist. Along with the soloist, the audience will also get to join in accompanied by the professional orchestra.
Each year, Santa leaves Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Lapland, Finland to bring Christmas cheer to people all around the globe. Santa Claus gives his speech wishing merry Christmas to the whole world before hopping in his reindeer-pulled sleigh and embarking on his tour. This year, the event will be organized with no audience due to latest corona restrictions. The event will be broadcasted on Facebook by Visit Rovaniemi on December 23rd at 7 PM local time (UTC +2).

The 57th Arctic Lapland Rally in 2022 will be competed on Friday and Saturday the 14-15th of January. The competitors start their arctic adventure on the over 220 kilometres of special stages already on Monday the 10th of January when the reconnaissance period begins. The rally route sees changes for 2022 as over 23% and over 50 special stage kilometres are new to all the drivers. For spectators the biggest change is the new special stage right in the heart of Rovaniemi at the Ounasvaara ski center. Naturally the route also includes beloved stages, such as the familiar final stage of Ristilampi at the remote Finnish Defence Forces training grounds. The brave rivals face endless snowy roads and ice cold temperatures at the mercy of the Lappish wilderness!
Rovaniemi is the hometown of Santa Claus in Lapland and is famous for its reindeer. Every year, at the end of winter, several reindeer races happen in the Rovaniemi area.
